The Studio

Growing Together

In recent years, The Studio has dedicated over 32 acres to the cultivation of Guadua bamboo, generating knowledge, providing technical training, and offering hands-on experience to community members, students, and volunteers.

Founded in 2013 and formerly known as the Agroforestry Center, El Estudio was created to promote research in sustainable agriculture and support the development of communities throughout the Valley.

In its early years, it focused on experimenting with various species of fruit trees and hardwoods. From these trials, the successful cultivation of Guadua bamboo emerged—now a key element in Panama’s architectural movement.

Located in San José de Madroño, El Estudio features a bamboo curing station and continues to expand its infrastructure.

Today, it serves as a hands-on learning space for students from Panama and abroad, as well as for volunteers and members of the Valley’s communities interested in sustainability and rural development.

Casa Viva

The headquarters of MVP, Casa Viva, continues to take shape.

Designed as both a home for our Operations Manager and a central hub for the organization’s environmental initiatives, it reflects our commitment to sustainability.

The space features three bedrooms, each equipped with beds and mosquito nets, as well as a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a toilet and shower, and a spacious terrace. The house is powered entirely by solar energy, using photovoltaic panels that supply electricity for lighting and internet access.

With every improvement to our facilities, we continue moving toward a more sustainable future.
