The Preserve
Located only 25 miles from Panama City, this rainforest preserve is a critical migration corridor for millions of animals and many endangered species, making it one of the world’s top 36 Biodiversity Hotspots.
Mamoní Valley Preserve (MVP), is a non-profit organization located in Panama. Supported by its U.S. 501(c)(3) corporation, MVP is dedicated solely to conserving the biodiversity of Panama’s Mamoní Valley, a critical biological corridor connecting North and South America, and one of the world’s top 36 Biodiversity Hotspots.
MVP works in partnership with local communities to fight illegal activities, and over the past decade has focused on conserving land, promoting reforestation, and protecting the Valley’s biodiversity.

Located within the largest remaining stretch of contiguous rainforest of the Tumbes-Choco-Magdalena ecoregion, one of the top 36 Biodiversity Hotspots in the world, this critically endangered biosphere is especially threatened due to its closeness to Panama City.
MVP’s large network of partners monitor, research and maintain MVP’s extensive land holdings and promote a culture of conservation throughout the Mamoní Valley and beyond.
